Deck-building roguelike Knights Of The Ether, similar to Slay the Spire, has kicked off Play to Rip Season 1 for KOTE holders with a prize pool of 80k $ARB tokens and various NFT prizes.
Season Details
Players who’ve received access through ownership of a Knight character NFT or have been lucky enough to get whitelisted are able to fight their way through the randomly-generated Blight while beating various bosses to earn XP and opening Loot Boxes in the free and premium tracks of the Battle Pass. The Season 1 Battle Pass is called the Arbiter’s Cape and needs to be minted or bought with $MAGIC tokens in order to progress through it, with the link to the right page available in the official tweet. It’s possible to actually own and complete multiple Battle Passes on the same wallet during a season, so once you reach level 50 on one Battle Pass you will start earning XP for the next Battle Pass straight away.
When opening Loot Boxes, players have a chance of getting up to 50 $ARB tokens, with rarer Loot Boxes having higher drop rates. Reaching level 25 in the premium Battle Pass is rewarded with 20 $ARB tokens, and the same goes for reaching level 50, though in both cases, a cap of 750 players seems to be in place.
Next to the Battle Pass, players can look forward to climbing the leaderboard on June 18th while competing for $ARB tokens and NFTs. The season will end on July 5th, after which the second season will begin on July 8th.
Specifically, the total prize pool not only has 80k $ARB tokens, but it also comes with 750 Genesis Limited Card Packs, 2250 Genesis Unlimited Card Packs and over 25k Loot Boxes to earn during the first 3 weeks of the season from June 11th. It will be possible to open Card Packs later this year once PvP gameplay goes live.
In April this year, the studio had a proposal accepted by the Arbitrum DAO that gave the team 240k $ARB tokens to distribute to players, with the plan being to give them out through 3 incentive streams over the course of 12 weeks, as shown in the below image.
