Mortal Judgement is a huge expansion that not only adds more than 190 different cards, but also 3 new features in the form of keywords:  Echo, Empower and Tempt Fate. 

There are 4 different types of Mortal Judgement card packs: Rare ($2.49), Epic ($6.99), Legendary ($24.99) and Shiny Legendary ($149.99). Each pack contains 5 different cards of varying rarity, so in say, the Rare card pack, you can get 1 Rare card or better and 4 Common cards or better, while the Legendary pack guarantees 1 Legendary card, 1 Rare card or better and 3 Common cards or ones with higher rarity. There’s also a chance to get a special Mythic card that has “only a single copy discoverable” in the packs for this latest expansion. Once this card has been uncovered, the opportunity to gain 1 Legendary Promo card from Mortal Judgement packs will become possible.

As for the new card abilities, Echo, Empower and Tempt Fate, they do the following: Echo creates a copy of the card played back to your hand, while adding 1 mana, 1 health and 1 attack; Empower strengthens the card you want to play, at the cost of extra mana, while Tempt Fate cards give you 2 choices: choose a guaranteed buff, or risk trying to get 2 buffs, potentially getting neither.

A special discount is available for early buyers, starting at 20% off and decreasing as the new packs reach a total of $10 million sold, after which there will no longer be a discount. As of writing, you can purchase these new card packs at a 17.9% discount. Chests are officially postponed to be sold at a later date due to a lack of Chest minting functionality over at Immutable X, a Layer-2 solution used by this Ethereum-based game to allow for gas-free and carbon-neutral NFT trading.

The story of Season 1: Champions Rise also reaches an ‘epic climax’, as this expansion set marks the last one that will be released for this Season of Gods Unchained, a free-to-play trading card game where you can not only earn, own, and sell various cards in the form of NFTs, but also turn regular ‘Core’ cards into NFTs by forging duplicates into one using Flux, an obtainable in-game currency and $GODS, the game’s own cryptocurrency, which can be gained in various play-to-earn events.
