GAMEE, the developer of arcade gaming platform Arc8, has rounded up the first quarter of the year with a Q1 2024 update post providing a recap of significant events while revealing what’s next in store for Q2.

Q1 2024 Highlights

The year unfortunately kicked off with a hack of the GMEE token on the Polygon network, prompting the developers to make the switch over to Ethereum for better security. This meant that holders would also have to migrate over, and this is now successfully being facilitated with the launch of the GMEE claim page last month, allowing owners to migrate their tokens at a 1:1 ratio.

To make this switch to Ethereum even better, the team released the Phoenix Protocol in February, a new quest-based earning mechanism which recently went into its first phase, marking the start of a soft-staking program to reward loyal holders.

During this quarter, Arc8 players also got to enjyo the Retro Season, during which more than $20k in partner NFTs and tokens was distributed while Beast NFT utility increased. Throughout the season various partnerships took place, leading to a variety of events to participate in. Among these was a partnership with Unstoppable Domains for a Valentine’s Day event, a collaboration with Africare for a cultural adventure, and a partnership with Motorverse for daily Neon Racer tournaments.

What’s In Store for Q2?

The second quarter of the year includes the ecosystem’s biggest season yet: the Mocaverse Season. Moca ID holders can look forward to Moca-themed games, Beasties, foods, special tournaments and various rewards.

According to the official post, the community can also look forward to more “thrilling” partnerships, “especially if you’re a soccer fan.” These collaborations will too bring unique rewards for players to compete for.

Last but not least, the Phoenix Protocol will be getting more quests throughout the quarter, with a couple currently in development. This means that GMEE holders will have more ways to earn Loot Points, which will be reedemable for various rewards that will be revealed at some point in the future.
