Following the announcement and launch of the free-to-play open beta testing phase, Galaxy Fight Club has now officially revealed that there will be not one, but two different tournaments packed with valuable prizes.
The first one, called the GFC Qualifier Cup, is ‘an internal GFC tournament’ where 16-32 teams battle it out for the number #1 spot for a chance of winning 3 $ETH, Genesis Galaxy Fighters and ‘special limited edition cosmetic items’. The pre-season tournament will commence in around 2 weeks, and requires players to own a Galaxy Fighter NFT in order to participate.
To apply, you will need to have a pre-made team of 3 Galaxy Fighter owners ready, meaning you cannot apply solo and expect to be randomly placed in a team. The top 16 or 32 teams who have the highest number of trophies will be chosen to play in the GFC Qualifier Cup. Teams that finish 1st and 2nd place in the Cup automatically earn a spot in the second tournament: the Open Championship.
Taking place in June, the cross-project Open Championship is expected to have huge prizes worth about $300k (~100 $ETH) or more.
Aside from these exciting tournaments, Galaxy Fight Club has also announced that they have officially become one of the projects to be listed on Coinbase NFT. They’ve also stated that play-to-earn is not yet ready for the game, with plans to do a ‘roll-out of P2E mechanics’ once the tournaments and land sale are finished.
