Gala Games, in collaboration with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Alienware, has announced that they are hosting their own 24-hour hackathon for GalaChain at GDC 2024, from March 20th to March 21st.

Hackathon Details

While Gala Games will have its own dedicated space in San Francisco, CA during this year’s Game Development Conference, participants do not need to be physically present to participate in this event. Those who do manage to be onsite however will get to enjoy live music and hospitality. It’s important to mention that attending live does not require having an official attendance pass for GDC.

The goal of this friendly competition is to try and create an innovative project using Gala’s L1 blockchain SDK, showcasing the power of its native gaming-focused network for a chance at winning a share of the massive $1 million prize pool, said to include AWS credits, Alienware monitors, and more goodies.

Anyone can participate, regardless of experience. There are two tracks you can choose to develop in: Game and Open. Even though the chain is designed for gaming, it’s also made to support many other different types of applications, thus giving participants the freedom to try and develop something related to other industries in the Open track.

If you’re interested in registering for this AWS-sponsored event, you can sign up by heading to the website linked in the below tweet, where you will be able to choose whether you’d like to take part virtually or in person. According to the official announcement, registration space is said to be limited.
