FIFA and AI metaverse company Altered State Machine (ASM) have officially launched the open beta version of their mobile football manager game called FIFA World Cup AI League, with plans to introduce an NFT marketplace for it in the future.

The info on NFT integration was recently revealed to Decrypt by an ASM representative, who have stated their plans to release an NFT marketplace specifically for the AI-powered title at some point in the future, which will lead to the minting of the in-game characters into NFTs while all future characters will be NFTs from get-go, bringing digital ownership and the ability to trade your team’s players with other managers of the mobile football strategy title.

The FIFA World Cup AI League is a 4v4 football management title that released in open beta on Android devices near the end of March this year. In it, you form a squad of AI-controlled players to play against other teams on various different arenas. Instead of featuring real-life players, the vibrant title includes a variety of colorful 3D creatures that you can customize with various different clothes with designs generated by AI. Each character comes with their own AI Traits that include power, stamina, speed and more, but they also have special AI Skills that add a further level of strategy as the game contains a skill blending feature where you can combine two different skills into one for a character to utilize, using a slider to decide which of the 2 skills should be more boosted and preferred before the match starts.

When asked by a couple of Twitter users about when there will be an iOS version of the game, the game’s Twitter profile responded by saying that they are “working on it.” In the meantime, you can check out a launch video of the game in the tweet down below, and if possible, try out the free open beta Android version available on the Google Play Store, with the link also present in the same tweet.
