The grand opening of the new Mars Theater officially took place on May 23rd in Everdome to bring interactive metaverse shows to the Unreal Engine 5-developed virtual space world.
Launch Details
This new destination has debuted in the Everdome City Headquarters on the new 8th floor and has a seating capacity for almost 100 audience members to simultaneously enjoy audio-visual content, which is a higher limit than the one found in all the pop-up metaverse spaces hosted in this Mars metaverse up to this point. If you don’t make it in time to have a seat, then you might be able to get one of the bonus standing room only spots.
As you enter the space, you’ll get to see that the space comes with a large screen and a stage for presenters to use for things such as interacting with the audience for live Q&A sessions. At the entrance to the Theater doors, you can see the current rolling content schedule, which consists of the programme laid out in the below image.

Initial Features & Future Plans
Users can sit, walk and socialize with each other in this metaverse space. Due to the nature of this area, some movement options are not available during screening, such as jumping and gesture options. Voice chat however will remain enabled at all times, but of course, just like in real life, you’re expected to avoid shouting. Since there is no proximity chat though, it’s best to remain silent during a screening in order to avoid disrupting the event.
In the future, the developers plan on introducing proximity voice chat to allow users to whisper each other without having the whole room hear the conversation. This feature is currently being tested, while exclusive new content is planned to drop in the weeks ahead, including partner content and events.
