Developer Trailblazer Games is set to introduce the Ice Affinity on April 24th for its Web3 auto-battler, Eternal Dragons.
This marks the second affinity to be released to date, after initially launching the Affinity Selector feature with its first affinity, the Psychic Affinity, on April 17th, when the team stated that they plan to release weekly new content to the Solana-based title. There will be a total of 12 different affinities, with each adding more tactical gameplay to the PvP fights of the fantasy-themed blockchain game.
In the latest Medium post introducing this new affinity, lead game designer Snoogms gives us the rundown on how this new affinity works while providing the community with various tips to help players get the best out of this new content.
According to Snoogms, who is fittingly from Iceland, the Ice Affinity is focused on defense, providing your units with Block which helps your team better sustain enemy attacks, thus having more health and as such a better chance of winning the match. The lead game designer states that by adding more Ice Affinity units to the team, your entire team can get Battle Hardened Scales. With Battle Hardened Scales, you’re able to “maintain your block from round to round, making your team a nearly impenetrable force on the battlefield!” Another pro tip provided by Snoogms is that you can have tankers use the Ice Affinity together with the Bear Down ability in order to “deal insane early-game damage.”
In the same day the new affinity is set to release, Week 4 of Season 2 of the Alpha League is also set to kick off, with the developers planning to reward holders “with up to a 10x(!) multiplier on their Eternium winnings.”
