After undergoing closed alpha and closed beta throughout this year, Emergents TCG, an NFT trading card game, has officially launched into public beta earlier this month.

Running on the Tezos blockchain network, interested users can create their own account on the game’s official website, after which they’ll be able to download the title currently available on Windows and Mac devices. After registering and logging in, the option to create a wallet will appear, as well as the option to connect an existing one. However, players can also choose to skip this part and create a wallet later if they end up deciding to purchase an NFT.

Compared to the previous testing periods, this public beta offers an improved first-time user experience thanks to the introduction of a tutorial system. The hand interface has been redesigned, allowing players to re-order their hand – a feature not so prominent in digital card games. The free card set will be expanded with five cards a week for some period of time, in an effort to “continuously refresh the meta,” open up the possibility of “exciting combos and archetypes” as well keep the game balanced for new players facing those who have gotten to play in previous testing periods.

The 2D card game is based on the Emergents Universe comics and is made by InterPop, whose CEO is Brian David-Marshall, the designer of various licensed board games and digital collectible card games. He’s also one of the first people to organize large tournaments for Magic: The Gathering.
