Bright Star Studios has just opened registration for the upcoming alpha playtests of Ember Sword, a free-to-play, cross-platform MMORPG.

After undergoing pre-alpha, the game is now officially in alpha stage, with the first playtest for this early version of the top-down title set to start this month on Tuesday, April 18th at 10:00 CEST, and will end on the same day at 23:59 CEST. Another playtest take place on April 19th at the same timeframes, followed by another playtest in August, with the exact schedule for that one not yet revealed at the time of writing, though details will be shared soon, according to the Medium post from the company’s Founder and CEO, Mark Laursen.

In order to be eligible to participate, all you have to do is simply sign up for an account over on the game’s official website, which can be found linked in the tweet down below. This however does not guarantee you a spot, as the team is letting in players on a first come, first serve basis for this month’s playtests.

Those who do get to play should not expect a finished product though, neither is anything part of this test phase representative of the final version of the game. What you can expect to experience as you help in testing various features are 5 main quests that will include resource gathering, crafting, treasure hunting, puzzle-solving, PvE combat as well as PvP gameplay. While you won’t necessarily be limited in exploration, you will be constricted to playing up to a total of 30 minutes, in order for the studio “to be sure we can let as many people experience the Playtest as possible.” If you still end up having some time left after completing all the quests, then you can go about exploring the game’s large world, which you can see how huge it is for the upcoming playtest in the image down below.
