Season 1 of Block Stranding is now live with an opportunity to earn an airdrop of the $STRAND token by engaging in social activities.
What Is Block Stranding?
Block Stranding is described as being the “world’s first” on-chain multiplayer RPG (OMRPG). Players explore an endless open isometric world as 2D astronauts while gathering resources and crafting items. Build your own base and defend it from various enemies as you engage in PvP combat using simple controls while strengthening your character further by leveling up. All while eventually getting to play to earn the game’s upcoming $STRAND token.
The game runs on Solana and is currently live in beta without gameplay rewards for the time being. It uses the MagicBlock real-time engine to have every in-game action get executed in real-time as an on-chain transaction, all recorded with zero fees and 10ms latency.
Last month, the blockchain-powered MMORPG officially went live after successfully completing its first large-scale multiplayer stress test, during which the team rolled out an MCP build to create sessions and connect AI agents. For this process, the developers utilized the open-source Solana Agent Kit, which successfully led to every connected agent remaining responsive in-game even under a high number of transactions per second. The MagicBlock technology delivered impressive performance to power smooth on-chain gameplay and was capable of supporting LLM-powered agents pushing 120k transactions to devnet in just 20 minutes for more than 100 TPS. The fully on-chain title seems very much ready to scale and handle a high number of players on the Solana network. MagicBlock itself launched the Magicnet on June 24, enabling developers building on Solana to permissionlessly integrate the real-time engine into their dApps.
Block Stranding is also the Hackathon 2025 Award Winner of Colosseum, an accelerator, pre-seed VC fund, and hackathon for innovative on-chain projects on Solana.
Get started playing the browser-based title for free by connecting your crypto wallet on Solana using wallets such as Phantom and MetaMask. As you do, you’ll also want to take part in the game’s first airdrop season. Here’s how that works!

How Does Block Stranding Season 1 Work?
Season 1: Attention Mining Mission is the blockchain gaming community’s first opportunity to earn an airdrop allocation of the game’s upcoming $STRAND token by engaging in social activities.
Simply connect your wallet and X account and start completing various daily tasks to earn “yaps”. Invite friends to multiply yaps and earn more of these points primarily by posting content about the game on X while placing the tag @blockstranding to have your posts tracked. The season uses an Attention System to automatically track X posts tagging the game’s profile in order to accordingly distribute yaps to participants based on social metrics such as engagement quality, “smart-follower” count, and tweet content.
The more yaps you earn, the higher your position on the seasonal leaderboard, meaning a better chance of winning a larger number of $STRAND tokens.
This social-focused drop represents the first phase of the game’s airdrop-based roadmap. After this season is over, you can look forward to earning $STRAND in the second phase in the form of in-game rewards, meaning gameplay activity will actually start being rewarded. For now, you can get used to the game’s mechanics while finding numerous ways to create engaging social media content.
Season 1 began on July 10 and does not have a specified end date, so you should probably start participating as soon as possible to increase your chances of earning tokens during this content creation period.
What Is the $STRAND Token?
The $STRAND token is the upcoming core gaming token of Block Stranding. Players will be able to earn the token through gameplay in Season 2 and likely onwards. For the first season, the token can be earned as an airdrop by creating user-generated social content. In terms of use cases and tokenomics, details on those aspects do not seem to have been revealed at the time of writing.
If you want to try and earn a share of this token’s supply early, here is how you can easily begin doing so.
Yap and Earn in Block Stranding Season 1
To earn $STRAND in Season 1, head on over to the Earn section of the game’s website and connect your crypto wallet as well as your X account. Once you connect both your wallet and X profile, you will be able to see your unique referral link as well as any available social tasks for the day.
Daily tasks seem to revolve around posting tweets using pre-made text given inside the Daily Tasks section, so just copy and paste the text into your own tweet. As of writing, there is only one daily task, and only that type of task so far. While doing this is rewarded with yaps, the points system for this season, this is not the only way to accumulate points.
Next to referring friends, your main method of earning yaps this season is to post any kind of content about the game that you want to on X. There are no rules on the type of tweets eligible to receive points, so long as your post contains the tag @blockstranding. With the tag in place and your crypto wallet and X account connected to the dashboard, you’re good to go with creating all kinds of creative tweets that could garner high levels of engagement. Whether it’s an overview of the game, gameplay tips, guides, funny videos, it seems solely up to you as to how you want to go about contributing to the game’s growth in order to be rewarded in the process.
A leaderboard can be found on the dashboard displaying the top 10 participants with the highest number of points, but it’s unclear how many players can actually qualify for the token airdrop in this season, so make sure to do your best at securing the top 10 spots to guarantee your chances of winning $STRAND, which has an unspecified dedicated portion of its supply allocated to this first airdrop season.
