The community of free-to-play Polygon-based horse racing game Derby Stars have a lot of things to look forward to based on what's been shared in the new 2024 roadmap.

It’s important to note however that not all of what is listed is completely set in stone, and as such there is a chance that the roadmap changes as time goes on, with the developers committing to letting the community know of any potential changes.

Key Plans for 2024

The team has outlined 4 important initiatives for this year that their roadmap is essentially based on. These initiatives include gameplay updates, ecosystem diversification, new token and NFT utility, and a focus on making the game more accessible in an effort to reach a broader audience.

Q1 & Q2

For the first two quarters, the studio plans on introducing new PvP content referred to as the Championship while making training easier and faster with the upcoming Auto-Training feature. Those who like betting can look forward to that feature going live outside the game on FANPLAY through which anyone will be able to bet on in-game races.

Alongside these Q1 additions, the second quarter is set to mark the introduction of a referral program, in-app purchases, as well as a revamp of the first-time user experience. There are also plans to go multi-chain, expanding to a blockchain that is focused on gaming, with the name of the network currently not revealed as talks to onboard are currently ongoing.

Q3 & Q4

The third quarter of 2024 will mark the release of new stage-style PvE content called Derby Saga. An achievement system is also planned, and so are launches on the Epic Games Store, the Play Store, and App Store.

In the final quarter of this year the team will look to push out crafting and avatar customization updates, while releasing a new game in the Derby ecosystem, adding in governance, and further expanding to more chains.
