Hunting Season, the invite-based alpha version of monster-catching MMORPG Defimons, is now officially live.

This early version of the pixelated title comes with daily missions, weekly quests and “engaging lore” for invited players to enjoy. The goal however is to gain mint points for a chance earning a whitelist spot for the upcoming free monster mint, with the players who have the most amount of mint points on the leaderboard set to be whitelisted.

If you don’t have an invite but would like to play, then you may still have a chance of getting in, as all approved players are able to invite up to 3 users, so you may find invite codes being shared. If you’re an NFT holder from one of the game’s partners, then you may perhaps receive an invite that way as well due to the developers allocating a number of invite codes to each integrated community. If you’re feeling creative, you could also potentially earn an invite code by writing threads and creating content across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube – if it draws the team’s attention, you might end up getting a code that way.

Players are encouraged to invite others to the alpha by offering various rewards for doing so. This means that, while approved users initially start off with 3 invites, there’s a chance to gain more if the invited users are approved to access the game.  If the invited user, who needs to have an invite code and a Twitter account, passes the check, the player who invited them is rewarded with mint points and another invite code, thus making it possible to bring dozens of new players, if they meet the team’s requirements.

Mint points aren’t the only incentive for inviting more people, as according to a tweet found in the thread below, it’s possible to get NFT rewards too, including a Penthouse that they say is worth $500.

The Defimons Hunting Season was initially announced a month ago, when various details were shared ahead of the closed alpha launch. Last week, the team announced that the 2D title is coming to the Epic Games Store.
