Cradles, a prehistoric action RPG backed by Animoca Brands, is set to receive a major update on Thursday, January 11th.

Update Details

The update was announced in the game’s official Discord server, where it was stated that the servers will temporarily go offline at 8 AM GMT on January 11th in order to adequately roll out all of the new features that await in this upcoming significant update.

According to the announcement, the upgrade will introduce the Ultraland System, Killing Contests, team bosses, daily bosses & missions, an expanded bounty system, and an overhauled anti-cheat system.

Ultraland System

While the latest official post doesn’t explain exactly what this new system is, describing it as a “groundbreaking addition that will elevate your gameplay,” there are some details that can be found in older messages on the server from an earlier AMA session. In them, we find out that the Ultraland System is a customizable land editor through which players create their own diverse land using a multitude of different buildings, NPCs, and dinos. It will be possible to build AI cities featuring AI NPCs you can interact with. This info however is half a year old now, as the details were initially revealed in an AMA in May 2023, so it will be interesting to see if the idea behind the new system has remained the same, and it won’t take long to find out if that is the case.

Killing Contests & Expanded Bounty System

Killing Contests is a new feature through which “strategy meets action.” Specific details however are not available, so we can only guess what this could be based on the name for the time being. Next to that though, the bounty system will be more alluring than ever before, as the new update is set to increase in-game rewards from this system by 20x.

Team and Daily Bosses & Missions

The update will mark the introduction of team bosses, where cooperation is key for winning these grand fights. New daily bosses and missions are also on the way to further add variety to gameplay.

Improved Anti-Cheat System & New Seasonal Approach

The developers are looking to release an advanced anti-cheat system that should help in providing a fairer experience.

From the upcoming new season and onwards, servers are set to be reopened seasonally, introducing various rankings in order to reward the best players of each season. The new season is also set to increase the in-game CRDS output by 20x, with plans to distribute over $2 million worth of CRDS rewards every season.

Chest Gameplay

Alongside this upcoming new update, the announcement also mentions that on January 20th, the team will reveal how Chests are unlocked while showing the types of Hourglasses and explaining how they’re used. This also means that the Chest exchange interface will be added, with more detailed info on exchange processes to be given on January 20th.
