The in-game store of Colonize Mars, a blockchain simulation, has received major improvements with the launch of Store 2.0 in an effort to support the game’s economy accordingly.

One of the new changes in question includes the ability to buy any item type that you want. This means that buildings, vehicles, equipment, and astronauts can now be purchased from the in-game store, with each base card NFT of any item type available from Standard to Dark Matter rarity.

If you happen to own any item that you don’t think you need anymore, then you now have the option to sell any item back to the store, in exchange for Store Credits. Store Credits can be used for buying items on the store and won’t ever expire. When you sell an item to the store, the official update post states that you get 90% of the purchase price of that item back, with the Store Credits said to be valued “the same as MARTIA when purchasing items using it.”

Another significant upgrade to the store is that the prices now actually dynamically change based on supply and demand in real-time. The team has stated that the pricing system is made to “reflect the quantity of Collection Strength (CS) purchased or sold.” This means that the price increases or decreases for every CS you add to your cart by $0.00002, with the price decreasing by the same amount for every CS you sell. According to the developers, they’ve mentioned that you will however pay “the average between the starting price and the final price for the items you buy,” with the Price Impact in your Cart showing this difference. The idea is the same for selling as well, receiving an average between the starting and final price.

There are now more ways to purchase items, with the store now letting you purchase using MARTIA, WAX, BNB, or Store Credits. An option to buy using ETH will be available soon once the NFT Bridge to Ethereum and Polygon opens up.

Starter Pack Vouchers can now be redeemed for Starter Packers in the store. These are bundles aimed at helping new players start playing the game. They come in 5 different rarities and can be redeemed using Vouchers. These vouchers are said to be given out through giveaways and promotions, “so expect to see a lot of fun ways to get one on our Twitter and in Discord.”
