Free-to-play casual blockchain soccer game Captain Tsubasa Rivals, based on the well-known manga series, is now officially live on Android and iOS devices via the Play Store and App Store respectively. The game can also be played on PC via web browsers.

Launch Details

To celebrate this launch which was anticipated by more than 100k pre-registrations, developer Mint Town Co., Ltd. and BLOCKSMITH&Co. are distributing 4 Gacha tickets to everyone who jumps in before January 31st, 6:59 PST. With these tickets, you have a potential chance of winning NFTs and more.

If you’ve been playing on PC and would like to also continue playing on mobile with the same account, then no worries, as the app version does let you simply link your progress, allowing you to continue where you left off. The other way around also applies; if you’d like to go from mobile to a web browser, the option to link your progress from mobile is also available in the browser version.

Producer’s Letter

Producer Shun Fujiyoshi has published a new letter to commemorate this week’s events that include not only launching the game on mobile but also getting the game’s token listed on Bitget, a centralized exchange that is partnered with Lionel Messi.

The producer also goes on to thank the community for helping make the Web3 title rank on the App Store as the #1 game in the free games ranking in Japan. To celebrate this great milestone, the team is doubling the drop rates for Pack 2 and Pack 3 in Mint while extending the PvP & ARENA Reward Up Campaign from January 29th to February 12th, 8:59 PST. This means that players can enjoy increased appearance rates for Uncommon and Rare player NFTs, as well as bigger rewards in the ARENA reward gacha for these items: Mint Items, Active Return Items, and FUSION Support Items.

While credit card support has been delayed, the producer states that everything else is going according to plan without any significant problems. Fujiyoshi also clarifies why this mobile version comes with less features than the PC one, explaining that the reasoning behind this decision is to help onboard players who aren’t crypto-savvy into the game. This makes the mobile version more accessible for a wider audience and could thus lead to more people gaining an interested in the Web3 side of the game. This means that PvE on mobile is free in an effort to “encourage players to take an interest in PvP.” These are the 2 main game modes of the mobile version, meaning that the ARENA feature is only available on PC.

Aside from providing a more user-friendly experience, the app release is also different because of app store regulations that have forced the team to remove wallet support on mobile.

As for the difference in price when using a credit card, Fujiyoshi states that this is " due to the different fees associated with each system.”

The letter also features info on new changes in the ARENA.
