Blocklords has made headlines with its recent airdrop of 300,000 LRDS tokens among its dedicated players and NFT holders.

Launched in January 2024, the Blocklords GameDrop is set to continue throughout the year, featuring a total of 5 airdrop events. The second event is currently underway, targeting players who own more than 5 NFTs and have upgraded their Foreman House to level 8.

LRDS, an ERC20 token exclusive to the Blocklords game, holds significant utility within its virtual realm. Players can stake LRDS tokens to generate in-game currency known as Influence. The tokens can be used to purchase resources, bundles, and additional NFTs. Alternatively, players can directly spend LRDS to acquire Influence at an initial exchange rate of 10 LRDS to 1,000 Influence.

LRDS tokens are currently unavailable on external exchanges, reinforcing the game's ecosystem-driven approach. The token follows a 10-year release plan, aligning with it's vision of establishing a robust long-term ecosystem.

MetaKing Studios, the developer behind Blocklords, provided insights into the LRDS token airdrop event. Serving as the governance token for the ecosystem, LRDS also functions as the primary in-game currency. Thus, empowering players with governance influence within Blocklords.

Participants eligible for the airdrop, officially titled GameDrop, are divided into two categories. The first group comprises players holding a minimum of 5 hero NFTs. This is alongside a connected game account, wallet, and substantial gameplay history. The second group is determined solely based on gameplay metrics. Metrics includes the level of the Foreman House, unlocked map sectors, and battle pass progress.

Blocklords also partnered with web3 infrastructure Venly to launch a token airdrop campaign. Targeting both Venly Metaring holders and the wider community, this initiative aims to introduce web2 players to the game. The campaign, which ran from January 24th to January 26th, distributed 2,000 LRDS tokens among 40 lucky winners, with each receiving 50 LRDS.
