First Light Games, the developers of upcoming top-down battle royale game Blast Royale have released a new gameplay trailer, teasing the launch of the battle royale game mode.
The 40-second video shows us some of the action-packed gameplay we can expect to experience while playing this fast-paced blockchain title. This trailer shows us gameplay from the mobile version, though the cross-platform title will be available on Windows and Mac alongside Android and iOS devices. Players can be seen fighting in cartoonish environments using various different weapons, such as hammers, miniguns and sniper rifles. In this free-to-play game, there will be a wide variety of equipment NFTs, ranging from sturdy armor to weapons such as RPGs, the ones previously mentioned and more, affecting not only the appearance of the player’s character, but one’s own playstyle as well.
The game will have its own marketplace for trading these NFTs, all of which are affected by a rusting process, losing durability the more it is used. They will be repairable using Craft Spice ($CS), an earnable token that is burned when repairing, upgrading and replicating equipment. Players can replicate, or create new items by combining two NFTs with a Replication Counter that is bigger than 0. The counter starts at 7, and the lower it goes, the more $CS and $BLST is needed to construct a new NFT. Blast Token ($BLST) is the main token of the play-and-earn title, used for buying equipment and more.
500 players were given access to the Blast Royale closed beta back in May this year. In April this same year, Blast Royale raised $5 million in a seed round co-led by Animoca Brands and Mechanism Capital for the upcoming title, with participation from Polygon, Merit Circle, Avocado DAO and more.
