Players of the well-known action RPG Big Time now have a new way to earn token rewards alongside the $BIGTIME Leaderboard, thanks to the introduction of the new event that is The Showdown Tournament.

Event Structure

Running alongside the main $BIGTIME Leaderboard, this competition is divided into 4 weekly qualifying rounds that take place in the final month of the leaderboard round. The first qualifier round has officially started on May 21st and will end on May 26th. During this first round, participants gain points by doing activities in the Armory, such as refining or crafting NFTs. Each round is focused on doing different activities to gain points, which are needed to rank among the top 10 players in one particular round so as to qualify onwards. If you can’t make it to this first round, then you can look forward to the beginning of the second one on May 27th, where points are earned from Prestige Portals. In the third round, Forge activities will be the focus, while Time Warden activities will bring you points in the 4th qualifying round.

Once these qualifiers are over, it’s time for the Showdown round, which takes place after the end of the leaderboard round, pitting a maximum of 40 players in a race to get the highest amount of points from all activities in order to end up among the top 10 players to receive $BIGTIME rewards. The winner walks away with 100k tokens, while the 10th-best player earns 7500 $BIGTIME tokens.

Points

Players can earn points both for the $BIGTIME Leaderboard and for this tournament. While you only need to win in one qualifying round to advance, you’re still able to participate in all rounds in order to try and stack up more Showdown points to give you a potential advantage in the main round. Your points will only count based on your placement rank though, so if you rank 1st in one round and 10th in the other, you will carry on 50k + 3750 points. The table below shows how many points is awarded based on rank in any of the qualifying rounds.

While racking up points during these rounds, the developers may introduce various objectives through which players can get bonus points. Events are also said to have an impact on points just like in the regular leaderboard, including events that add a multiplier. When it comes to crafting, players will need to start the process during the round and finish it before the round ends for the points to count.
