On February 22nd, blockchain action RPG Big Time received a new update introducing various balance changes for Cracked Hourglass dismantling.

What’s Changed?

There are 3 notable changes introduced with this update, and they include adjusting values for dismantling, changing how spawn intervals work, while making it so that decorations now boost your chances of getting rarer spawns.

Decorations

If you put in decorations in your SPACE, you will now boost your chance of getting cracked hourglasses that are not only of higher rarity but also of higher quantity. While you can add as many decorations as you want, the update post states that the benefits lower the more you add them, revealing that there are “quite a few axes to explore with decoration placement so enjoy some new game mechanics to experiment with!”

Dismantling Value Changes

By changing the values for dismantling, the studio is looking to increase the value “derived from dismantling higher rarity cracked hourglasses,” while changing the duration of the process in order for the token-per-hour value to progressively go higher alongside the hourglass rarity. With this new update, it’s clarified that existing Cracked Hourglasses will be dismantling at the new values, which do not seem to have been revealed in the official announcement. What is known though is that the dismantling time for Common Cracked Hourglasses has been lowered due to decreasing the number of tokens generated. Tokens generated from Rare, Epic, and Legendary ones however has seen an increase.

Spawn Intervals

Spawn intervals are now based on the size and rarity of your SPACE, benefitting players who have rarer and/or larger SPACEs. The updated spawn interval values can be seen in the below table, with the numbers representing hours.
