The developers of blockchain strategy game Battle Saga have recently revealed that private testing of the mobile title is set to soon end, teasing a public testnet launch for Android devices.

According to a recent tweet from the game’s official Twitter account, all holders who are part of a waitlist have been “thoroughly” testing the NFT title, with a public testnet APK file set to be distributed for everyone to try out “very soon.” A similar tweet before the one below also teased that waitlist testing is “almost done,” so it’s probably reasonable to expect to see this launch take place by the end of this month or sometime in early June.

Battle Saga is an NFT strategy title inspired by the hit mobile title, Clash of Clans. Given the mention of APK in the tweet, it seems this public testnet will only be available on Android devices. Described as a “next generation strategic metaverse game” in which players can “earn without playing (EWP),” it was initially set to release in Q3 last year after undergoing public beta testing, but seems to have been delayed since. Registration for testing the final testnet APK happened in February this year, with the testing commencing last month. In regards to their EWP concept, they describe the idea as one where players prepare by building their base and fortifying it various defenses, after which you can be subject to “passive income” because if someone attacks your base and fails to conquer it, you get the rewards that you’ll be able to withdraw into the game’s core token, $BTL. These take on the form of wager matches where you challenge others to attack your base, and if the attacking side wins, they take the wage that you set.
