Sky Mavis has launched a new update for the Classic version of Axie Infinity this month that brings with it a new game mode called the Collectible Coliseum and more.

Update Details

Next to the new mode, the update also introduces AXP changes, a new Golden Wheel, and the start of Grand Tournament 3.

Collectible Coliseum

This mode is designed exclusively for collectible axies and comes with a 1000 AXS prize pool. Specifically, playing this mode requires having one of the axies mentioned in the above image: Mystic, Origin, Xmas, or Japan axie. If you have a Mystic/Agamogenesis axie, you can earn 2 AXS from conquering the Cursed Coliseum, so long as it’s one of the first 200 Mystic axies to do so. The same applies for playing with an Origin axie, with the reward being 1 AXS per Origin team. The first 200 Xmas teams will also get 1 AXS each, except that in this case you will need 2+ Xmas parts or Frosty body. Last but not least, the first 400 Japanese teams to win the mode get 0.5 AXS each, on the condition that these teams have 3+ Japanese parts. You can have multiple axies for meeting body part conditions if one doesn’t have the number of required parts.

AXP Changes

The daily AXP cap has been increased to 12,500 AXP per axie, while winning in the Arena is now rewarded with 200 AXP. A win in the Grand Tournament earns you 400 AXP, while the Coliseum mode could give you the highest amount of AXP depending on the amount of matches you win. Even if you fail your run in the new mode, you will still be awarded with 100 AXP per axie.

Golden Wheel

The Golden Wheel is a new feature that allows players to make a free daily spin to earn Gold and exclusive stickers. You will need to win 1 Arena match every day to get a new free spin. Each month there will be a new exclusive sticker that can be created using 16 sticker pieces. There’s a chance of collecting these pieces by spinning the wheel, but players also have the option to buy them from the shop. The debut sticker is titled “Put Tank In The Mall.”

Grand Tournament 3

Anyone interested in participating in the Grand Tournament 3 has until February 15th, 10 AM VN to register for Phase 1. Registration requires paying a fee of 150 Gold, while the mechanics are said to be similar to the previous competition. By participating, players have a chance of earning a share of a 1250 AXS prize pool.

This month, Sky Mavis announced that GCash is making its way to Axie and Ronin.
