Initially planned to end on April 26th, gaming studio Foonie Magus has announced an extension of the Open Beta 2 Arena leaderboard for free-to-play roguelite x god game hybrid Apeiron, giving players more time to compete for a prize pool that is said to feature $600k+ worth of rewards.

Why the Extension?

According to the announcement posted in the game’s official Discord server last week on April 18th, the extension comes as a result of “an influx of hackers and cheaters” climbing the leaderboard in the past couple of weeks. More than 4000 accounts have been banned up until that day, with the developers continuing to work on improving the anti-cheat system to ensure a fair competitive experience.

Important Changes

Due to the surge in cheaters and hackers over the past few weeks, the team has decided to extend the leaderboard to May 10th. That’s not the only change that’s been made though. In order to qualify for leaderboard rewards, you will need to reach the Platinum rank. Next to that, another change has also been made, which includes distributing prizes in 4 bi-weekly batches, with the rewards set to become claimable 2 weeks after distribution.

The team reminds the community that only accounts that have a crypto wallet connected to them will be able to get APRS leaderboard rewards. There are no NFT multipliers for the rewards, and the developers will need 2 weeks to remove cheaters and duplicate accoutns from the leaderboard once the season officially ends. If you reach Platinum rank as a non-NFT owner and finish in the top 10k, you will also be eligible for leaderboard prizes.
