The developers of dark fantasy Web3 title Aether TCG have released Patch 0.49.20, bringing new features and improvements to enhance the overall experience, with one of the new additions being the introduction of a new game mode: The Gauntlet.
What Is The Gauntlet?
The Gauntlet is an intense new game mode of high stakes and high rewards where players wager cards from their own collection for a chance at earning various rewards by winning up to 7 PvP matches. An entry fee of 1000 AC has to be paid to play, while the amount of cards you put at stake will determine the number of matches you’re able to play, thus affecting the rewards you can get. Players also have to follow specific rarity requirements when choosing their cards. Once ready, the game will begin matchmaking, pairing you up with an opposing player that’s in the same stage. After winning a match, you get to choose whether you want to exit with the rewarded cards or continue going and risk losing your prizes for a chance at winning more rewards.
When creating your deck for this mode, you’ll draft 30 unique cards while choosing one of 2 Adventurers and Ethernals that are randomly offered.
Match History & Gameplay Changes
Next to the new mode, the latest patch also brings with it the new Match History window, giving you a detailed list on past games you’ve played while providing an overview on info such as results, decks, opponents, adventurers and companions used in those matches.
When it comes to gameplay changes, creatures that lose the Panic effect can now attack if they haven’t already in that turn, while the Rupture ability will no longer count Shock damage when damaging an Adventurer while the ability is applied to Shock creatures. Instead of being limited to using it every other turn, the Progenitor’s Elemental Mastery ability can now be used in every turn, except if it was used in the previous turn.
Details on bug fixes, quality of life additions and more can be found in the full patch notes.
