Waifu Sweeper now has a competitive backbone. The YGG Play title announced Waifu Rush on March 2, 2026, introducing a weekly leaderboard system that rewards the most skilled players with a share of 1,000 Energy every week. Only the Top 10 finishers earn rewards, and all competition during Week 1 takes place in 1x mode exclusively.
Week 1 opened March 2 at 00:00 UTC and runs through March 8 at 23:59 UTC. The 1,000 Energy prize pool is split among the top ten ranked players, with higher positions earning a larger portion. Players need to optimize their runs, climb the standings, and hold their rank through the full seven-day window.
What Is Waifu Sweeper
Waifu Sweeper is a skill-based puzzle and collection game developed by Raitomira and published by YGG Play, the publishing arm of Yield Guild Games. The studio was co-founded by Hun and Karan, both multi-year veterans of Web3 gaming, and the development team includes professionals with backgrounds at Blizzard Entertainment and Tencent.
The game launched on Abstract Chain on January 28, 2026, positioning itself within YGG Play's growing "Casual Degen" portfolio alongside titles like LOL Land, Gigaverse, Roach Racing Club, and Proof of Play Arcade. It first appeared publicly at Art Basel Miami on December 6, 2025, where attendees received a commemorative NFT minted on Abstract.
At its core, Waifu Sweeper blends the logic-driven mechanics of Minesweeper with the collectible appeal of gacha-style, anime-inspired characters called waifus. Players use these characters to navigate a board, uncovering hidden monsters and treasures while relying on strategy and available information rather than luck. The game explicitly positions itself as a skill-to-earn experience, meaning rewards reflect gameplay proficiency rather than random chance, which sets it apart from most gacha-based onchain titles.
CHAD Token and Ecosystem Connections
Shortly after launch, Waifu Sweeper hosted a presale for the CHAD token from partner project GIGACHADBAT, running from February 4 to February 6, 2026. CHAD is a DEX-only token that provides in-game utility within Waifu Sweeper, including access to faster leaderboard progression and specialized equipment. Completing quests and playing games across YGG Play generates platform points, which players can pledge to secure token allocations during launches.
Waifu Sweeper also crossed over with LOL Land, YGG Play's flagship browser-based board game, through the World of Waifu board released in February 2026. That collaboration brought Waifu Sweeper's characters and puzzle mechanics into the LOL Land ecosystem, which had reached 631,000 monthly active users by July 2025 and $4.5 million in total revenue by September 2025, including $2.4 million in a single 30-day period.
YGG Play and the Abstract Chain
YGG Play operates as the publishing arm of Yield Guild Games, the crypto gaming guild co-founded by Gabby Dizon. The platform runs on the Abstract Chain, an Ethereum Layer-2 ZK-rollup with native account abstraction that supports social logins and passkeys, removing most traditional Web3 onboarding friction. Players can access Waifu Sweeper directly through a desktop or mobile browser at yggplay.fun/waifusweeper.
Dizon commented on the Raitomira partnership, noting that the studio's co-founders had spent years building in Web3 gaming and were introducing gameplay combinations the ecosystem had not previously explored.
The introduction of Waifu Rush gives the game its first recurring competitive structure. With weekly resets and a fixed prize pool distributed to a tight leaderboard of ten players, the system creates a consistent incentive for skilled players to return and improve. YGG Play has indicated that further publishing collaborations and game launches are in development throughout 2026 as the platform continues expanding its casual onchain gaming lineup.
