Developer Directive Games has announced that The Machines Arena, a top-down hero shooter, is now officially live as an invite-only closed beta title on the Ronin Network, an Ethereum-based Layer 2 chain from Axie Infinity developer Sky Mavis, through the Epic Games Store.

If you’d like to have a chance at trying out the blockchain title early, then you can sign up for closed beta waitlist through the link found in the tweet down below. Those who end up getting invited will be able to play the game through the Epic Games Store, with the free-to-play title featuring NFTs on the Ronin Network. It’s currently only available on PC, with a mobile version planned to be available at some point in the future.

As seen in the gameplay footage embedded in the tweet below, this game features single-player and multiplayer top-down gameplay, with the solo-based PvE mode called “Death Run” challenging players to make it as far as they can in one go, while the online portion comprises of fast-paced 4v4 hero shooter gameplay, where you can play as a tank, support or assault character. According to the official store page, the PvE character is unique and no two PvE runs are the same, with the game allowing players to earn digital collectibles specifically for this single-player character.

It was recently revealed that Directive Games is one of the first game studios to partner with Sky Mavis to launch their title on the Ronin Network, the chain which now also includes $RON staking.
