Steve Aoki's Arcade Park Is Back in The Sandbox Season 7
Steve Aoki's Arcade Park has returned to The Sandbox as part of Season 7, inviting players to take on a dual-path parkour challenge across a neon-lit, festival-style environment. The experience gives players a choice from the start: take the easy route or push through the harder path. Either way, the finish line is Steve's pool club at the top, rewarding those who make it with the signature atmosphere the DJ has built across multiple seasons of collaboration with the platform.
The Arcade Park sits inside a broader Season 7 rollout that launched on February 25, 2026, featuring 32 experiences across brand collaborations and community-built onchain games. Steve Aoki is among the most recurring creative partners in The Sandbox's history, having appeared in Alpha Season 3 with a Water Park experience, expanded into the Playhouse, and returned in Season 6 with the Neon Hiroquest, a music-driven adventure set against Las Vegas-inspired visuals. The Arcade Park marks his latest chapter inside the platform.
Two Paths, One Destination
The design of the Arcade Park is built around player choice. Selecting the easy path offers a more accessible route through the parkour course, while the hard path demands precise movement and timing for those looking for a real test. Both routes converge at Steve's pool club, which appears in the images shared by the team as a high-energy destination sitting at the top of the vertical experience.
The parkour format draws on the same creator who built Race Maze, one of The Sandbox's more demanding movement-based experiences. That pedigree signals the hard route is not a minor variation but a genuinely different challenge, aimed at players who want to earn the pool club arrival rather than simply reach it. Club XYZ, the metaverse residency space within The Sandbox, also features a Steve Aoki residency alongside Guy Gerber during Season 7, giving the Arcade Park an anchor point within the broader social hub the platform has been developing.
Season 7 Backs a Creator-First Rollout
The return of the Arcade Park lands inside The Sandbox's most creator-focused season to date. Over 50% of the 32 experiences in Season 7 were built by independent creators rather than the in-house team, a milestone CEO Robby Yung described as overdue. The 20 community-built experiences came directly out of the Retro Game Jam and Future Game Jam events held in late 2025, producing Metroidvania-style titles, side-scrollers, classic arcade shooters, cosmic runners, and sci-fi action games across both jam themes.
The Season 7 prize pool sits at more than 650,000 SAND, worth approximately $52,000 at current rates, distributed through a 25-level battle pass with both a free and paid track. Players earn experience points across the season's experiences to unlock NFTs, exclusive content, and shares of the SAND pool. For the first time in the platform's history, selected Season 7 experiences are playable directly in the browser with no download, installation, or account creation required, a change the team made specifically to lower the entry barrier for players who have never used The Sandbox before.
The brand lineup for the season extends beyond Steve Aoki to include Atari, Bruce Lee, The Terminator, and Black Mirror, giving the platform a mix of gaming nostalgia, pop culture, and music across its active experiences.
About The Sandbox
The Sandbox is a decentralized open-world metaverse platform built on Ethereum and Polygon, acquired by Animoca Brands in 2018. Players can explore user-generated experiences, collect and trade digital assets as NFTs, and build their own environments using the Game Maker toolset. The platform's native token, SAND, powers transactions, governance, and reward distributions across the ecosystem.
The platform has maintained a long-running series of branded collaborations, bringing musicians, entertainment franchises, and gaming IP into playable onchain spaces. Steve Aoki has been one of its most consistent partners since Alpha Season 3, with each new season building on the last through expanded experiences and new gameplay formats. Season 7's Arcade Park carries that collaboration forward with a movement-focused experience that puts parkour skill at the center before delivering the pool club payoff at the finish.
