More details on Symbiogenesis, a blockchain title by Square Enix

Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix has recently dropped a preview trailer for its first NFT game, Symbiogenesis. 

The trailer shows off some of the environments and structures players will encounter in the game. Those who can't wait can get a first glimpse of the map when the full official website launches on March 17th. 

Symbiogenesis was initially described as a "digital collectible art project designed from the ground up for Web3 fans." It was first announced by Square Enix in late 2022. Since then, the company has divulged more details about the upcoming game. 

Symbiogenesis is advertised as a form of new "NFT-based entertainment," where "10,000 collectible artworks meet real game utility." Each NFT artwork or character has its own unique design, which evolves as players make strategic moves to shape the game. Six chapters will be released in stages, with players completing missions and quests to unlock the next chapter and obtain hidden items. 

The game takes place on a mysterious Floating Continent, with an ancient World Tree anchored in the center of the map. Players can unlock engaging stories about the secretive world by holding or trading digital collectibles and earning them through various missions.

Players can also replicate and sell digital art of their characters, share hints about hidden items with others, and complete missions as a team. There are several different endings to the game. Only three players who finished all six chapters and gathered all special quest items will be chosen to participate in the "World Mission." During the final mission, selected players will get to decide how the story ends. 

On March 17th, Symbiogenesis will launch a Treasure Hunt event on its official website. 30,000 NFT membership cards will be scattered throughout the map, and players must look for hints to find these valuable prizes. Players must connect their crypto wallets to claim these NFTs, which will incur no gas fees as the team will cover the costs. The NFT characters for Chapter 1 will be released in late April, followed by the first chapter in May 2023.
