After announcing the Rebellion set last month, the team behind blockchain TCG Splinterlands is back with a sneak peek of some of the new cards that come included in this fifth core edition.

What Does the Sneak Peek Reveal?

The community can now see in an official blog post the first set of cards that are a part of this new set, with more to be shown during the next week. As part of this sneak peek, players can see 6 new cards: Gobalano Soldier, Infernal Firestorm, Chaos Animator, Anasth Soothsayer, Zeddica, and Prophet Rosa.

Gobalano Soldier

The Gobalano Soldier is part of a crime syndicate spread out across the cities of Praetoria. When the Gobalano are doing extortion, intimidation, kidnapping for ransom and similar work, they call upon the Soldiers to enforce their goals.

Using this card helps you destroy a unit’s armor to make them fragile for another attack, and with Ambush, “he gets it done before the battle even begins.” His level can go all the way up to 10.

Infernal Firestorm

Originating from the Plane of Fire, this blazing elemental can raze down entire cities if left uncontrolled, and only few can actually control this flaming creature.

As you’d expect from a tank card, this unit comes with high health and armor, ready to break your opponent’s defense and take on a melee unit in the 2nd position when mixed with Flank.

Chaos Animator

The Chaos Animator is a support unit who is called Tenni Mayla. She is capable of constructing dangerous golems and does so for the Chaos Empire, hence her allegiance-based name.

She comes with low mana but has Void Armor and an Amplify ability that adds a critical boost to cards that have Return Fire, Thorns, and Magic Reflect, while using Redemption to help turn things around in your favor.

Anasth Soothsayer

The Anasth Soothsayer provides people with advice at a price while swimming in search of valuable loot in the northern coast of Praetoria.

This support card for Water teams comes with Cleanse and Heal, as well as Dispel for removing effects such as Martyr and Bloodlust, while using Lookout to protect units from Snipe, Opportunity, and Stealth. To protect herself, she uses Dodge.

Zeddica

Zeddica Blackthorn is the card set’s first dual-element summoner who was previously an underlord in the Belorucian military before joining Slade in betrayal and becoming one of his hand-picked captains ruthlessly controlling the citizens of Fireboro with her forces.

This card can be played when Death and Water elements are available in game, opening up new strategies to use to your advantage thanks to this “awesome new era of dual-element gameplay!”

Prophet Rosa

The last card revealed in this sneak peek is the Prophet Rosa Ombros who is a tribal leader of the Ujurak tribe and who has received a vision about ending the reign of the Chaos Empire while freeing the tribes of Panopia. She must go on a journey to the south, presumably in the parts of the Drybone Badlands, in order to fulfill this vision.

Prophet Rosa is the first Tactics summoner with which you can buff your units in various ways, even the ones in the opponent team, after cards from both sides are revealed.
