The team behind Spellborne, a rising web3 multiplayer RPG, has officially launched its Open API system, allowing players, developers, and community contributors to build tools, features, and integrations directly into the game’s ecosystem. The update went live on April 18 and is now available to all players with an in-game account.

The move reinforces Spellborne’s player-first development philosophy one that has already attracted translators, modders, and creators since the project’s earliest stages.

Developers Can Now Build with Spellborne

With the Open API now live, any user can generate an API key from within the game and begin using it to access real-time game data and build external applications.

To get started:

  • Open the Settings menu in-game
  • Navigate to the Developer tab
  • Click Create API Key, give it a name, and copy the key
  • Use the base URL: https://api.spellborne.gg

Each user can manage up to five active keys per account, and all API endpoints will require a valid key to access.

The API allows developers to fetch information on player stats, leaderboards, items, and game events. While it’s not yet a full plug-in architecture, the available endpoints give creators plenty of tools to begin experimenting with overlays, community dashboards, and bot integrations.

Stellar Pass Perks and Higher-Tier Access

According to Spellborne’s team, players with a Stellar Pass a premium game pass available in previous seasons will enjoy higher rate limits, allowing their applications to make more frequent requests without delays.

For more serious developers or large-scale community tools, Spellborne is also offering custom access to higher-tier API endpoints on request. Interested builders are encouraged to reach out through official support or community channels.

Why This Matters

While many web3 games talk about community-driven development, Spellborne is now among the few actively delivering developer tools to its player base. By opening up access to its game data, the studio is empowering fans to build custom utilities, track gameplay analytics, and even translate these tools into other platforms like Discord or Twitch.

This also lays the groundwork for a more open, modular future, where third-party applications could one day contribute to gameplay, economies, or lore.

What’s Next?

Spellborne has hinted that this is only the beginning. As the game grows and its ecosystem matures, the team plans to expand the API offering, adding more endpoints and possibly allowing write access for verified partners.

For now, the API is read-only and focuses on game data, but the move signals the studio’s long-term commitment to transparency, co-creation, and platform building within Web3 gaming.

To start building, players can visit https://api.spellborne.gg and follow the in-game steps to generate their API key.
