Overdare, a mobile-based metaverse platform, has teamed up with Circle, the issuer of USDC. This partnership aims to transform how content creators receive payments via in-game wallets and crypto payouts.
Overdare is a joint venture between Naver Z and Krafton, the publisher behind PUBG: Battlegrounds. Announced in September 2023, Overdare is a Roblox-like metaverse game, crafted with Unreal Engine 5.
The integration with Circle's Programmable Wallets service will allow creators to seamlessly get paid for their work. This is especially useful for those looking to switch from mainstream Web2 platforms to the growing Web3 ecosystem.
"We're excited to unveil our partnership with Circle, a company distinguished by its regulatory compliance and trustworthiness," said Henry Park, CEO of Overdare. "Their robust support ensures that we are able to support the creator economy, and guarantee creators reliable access to their earnings."
Jeremy Allaire, CEO and co-founder of Circle, echoed this sentiment, stating: "Circle is excited to be at the forefront of this pioneering venture with Overdare to empower the creator economy. We believe this partnership will be a catalyst in shaping the future of digital entertainment, ultimately fostering an innovative Web3 environment for all."
The latest move comes when interest in GameFi tokens is surging. Just days before the announcement, Pixels saw its crypto token soar to a valuation of $2.7 billion following its listing on Binance.
As Overdare prepares to launch in H2 2024, this partnership with Circle marks the growing prospects for content creators in the metaverse.
