After wrapping up Season 1 and opening the claiming of 20 million $MOANI for eligible free players, play-to-earn life sim Paradise Tycoon has now been updated to Beta 3, marking the start of Play to Airdrop Season 2 to give players the chance to play and earn even more tokens.

How Does Season 2 Work?

Just like the previous season, this one too is solely focused on completing gameplay-related tasks to earn the upcoming $MOANI token. These challenges are found in the Paradise Pass, a sort of battle pass-like progression system featuring a Free Tier and a Gold Tier, the latter unlocked by holding a Paradise Pass NFT. Free tasks generally revolve around collecting a variety of resources, while the Gold Tier tasks can include something as simple as petting an animal.

If you complete tasks in the Gold Tier, you’re instantly rewarded with an off-chain version of MOANI, while progressing through the Free Tier is rewarded with Badges that will determine your share of the airdrop. You need at least 200 Badges to qualify. In the Free Tier, you get to complete 3 tasks every day, while the Gold Tier comes with one easy task each day alongside a daily passive bonus, and you can even multiply your rewards by owning multiple Paradise Pass NFTs. Of course, NFT holders can also collect Badges, and if you don’t have enough time to do the free tasks, then you can simply buy the necessary resources from the Auction House using the earned MOANI to quickly finish the daily free quests.

For this season, a total of 40 million $MOANI has been allocated for the Free Tier, which is double the amount distributed for last season’s Free Tier. As for the 1500 Paradise Pass NFTs, the co-founder of the studio developing this Immutable-powered multiplayer title says that a total of 120 million $MOANI has been allocated to Pass NFT holders during the beta and “12 months following the launch,” according to their Twitter/X thread. The off-chain MOANI will be possible to withdraw to on-chain tokens 1 week after TGE once the developers launch the Bank feature, which will take a 30% withdrawal fee for the first month after TGE.

Paradise Pass NFTs can be bought on the Sphere marketplace via Immutable zkEVM. At the time of writing, the cheapest listing available prices the asset at 69.76 $IMX (around $103).

What Is the Utility of $MOANI?

$MOANI is the core token and currency of Paradise Tycoon that is set to launch on-chain later this year. It comes with a fixed supply of 6 billion tokens and the developers continue to add new ways for players to use their off-chain tokens in-game, with tokens spent in the Web3 title placed back into the game’s reward pool.

Players earn $MOANI by doing Paradise Pass tasks, limited quests and by trading with each other at the Auction House. The token can also be won through competitions and events, including ones created by the community. Essentially, whatever players decide to create, the game’s open economy enables the community to use $MOANI in whatever way they want. This means that players can spend their tokens on various utilities for user-generated content, but it can also be spent on participation fees as well as vendor provided goodies such as consumables and customization items, while also using it for Island sales and rentals.

What’s New in Beta 3?

The latest open beta version of this relaxing 3D blockchain game introduces a major new feature: NFT crafting. This lets players mint new NFT tools to enable true asset ownership while allowing players to trade various tools for $MOANI. Next to minting, the beta also introduces more resources, new items, new crafting options, better controls and more.

If you didn’t take part in the last airdrop season, then now’s the time to jump in and play to earn for free by playing through a web browser or Android device.
