As a part of the “-into the galaverse europe 2022” event, Gala Games has officially announced a new project that may potentially be added to the ever-growing gaming ecosystem.
It's called Champions Arena, a turn-based RPG in development by OneUniverse for PC and mobile devices.
The upcoming 3D title will feature more than 100 collectable NFT Champions and numerous different items, also in the form of NFTs. These Champions can be sent on various missions, but can also be controlled by the player "directly in real-time tactical, turn-based battles."
Throughout these battles players can use various skill and spell cards, while also equipping their Champions with useful gear. These cards can ultimately decide the victor, making deck building an important part of the game.
"Deck building will be a key strategy for players looking to find the best synergies, as lesser cards can be combined into more powerful abilities. Using your energy card resources efficiently and casting summoner spells with proper timing will both be vital in the arena!"
Champions NFTs are inspired by Eastern and Western mythology, and can also be upgraded.
"As you progress through the game you’ll find powerful auras and items, and your Champions will grow stronger and even more uniquely yours."
Aside from regular PvP, there's also Guild PvP, "epic Co-Op Conquest Battles," story-focused campaigns and "the deadly Tower of Trial."
As with other games on the Gala Games ecosystem, Champions Arena will too undergo a Founder's node voting in the near future, where node owners will decide on whether the PC & mobile game should become a part of the platform or not. The last game that got added was Eternal Paradox, a 4X turn-based RPG. A demo of that one released yesterday for Android devices, available on the game’s website.
