Web3 gaming ecosystem Eternals has updated the starting time for the Week 3 Leaderboard of Eternals Pew Pew, with the event now set to launch on September 5 at 6 AM UTC in order to give the developers a bit more time to properly prepare Patch 1.1, which adds in Nightmare Mode, new perks, and more.
What Is Eternals Pew Pew?
Eternals Pew Pew is a free to play 2D casual shooter where players protect the colorful world of Eternia from waves of floating invaders. You take on the role of the fearless Holy Cat, piloting an armored aircraft up and down the battlefield as you dodge and fire at enemies within a set time limit and with limited ammo. Battles are randomized for a casual yet challenging experience, and victory requires defeating a specific number of enemies while chasing extra objectives for higher scores. With various difficulty levels to choose from, players can push themselves to climb the weekly leaderboards for bragging rights and rewards.
The game is currently playable on PC via web browsers through its official website. Players can sign in via email, Google, Apple, or Facebook, or alternatively connect their web3 wallet through Coin98 Wallet or Ramper Wallet. Players connect their wallets to the Viction network, a Layer 1 blockchain previously known as TomoChain that supports zero-gas transactions, making gameplay seamless and accessible.
Eternals Pew Pew went live in an Alpha Playtest in early August, giving the blockchain gaming community the opportunity to play to earn NFT rewards for free. That playtest is still ongoing in the form of weekly leaderboards and limited time events. Two weekly leaderboards have been held to date, which should mean that the playtest is halfway to the finish line, after which an open beta should follow at some point this month. Here’s what’s new for the latest weekly event.

What’s New in Eternals Pew Pew Week 3 Leaderboard?
Patch 1.1 introduces new content and updates for players to enjoy in the Week 3 Leaderboard, including Nightmare Mode, new perks for NFT holders, a new limited time event, Battle Pass updates, and bonus Leaderboard Points.
Nightmare Mode is a new and harder difficulty level that adds in new enemies to shoot down and better rewards to earn, giving players a new mode to stack Shooting EXP in during Week 3 for a higher chance of climbing the rankings.
Guardian NFT holders are set to enjoy new perks that include a new and exclusive gift. This gift is the Mythical Proto Dragon Roar, a powerful aircraft that is only being airdropped to holders who held their Guardian NFT from the start of Week 2. If you want to get a bonus in-game item airdrop for Week 4, then you will have to hold a Guardian NFT for the entirety of Week 3.
Thanks to the success of the Boss Raid event, the team would like to bring a new limited time event for Week 3 as well, details on which are not available at the time of writing.
Next to all these new additions, the Battle Pass has been updated with 20 new levels to unlock and earn rewards from, and everyone who competes in this 3rd week can expect to receive bonus Leaderboard Points. Info on how this point boost works was not revealed.
Whether you missed out on the previous 2 weekly leaderboards or are a returning player, anyone has a chance to play to earn rewards for free. Here’s how you can participate.
How to Play to Earn in Eternals Pew Pew Week 3 Leaderboard
The Week 3 Leaderboard in Eternals Pew Pew runs from September 5, 6 AM UTC, to September 11, 2 PM UTC, and gives players a chance to play to earn NFT rewards by collecting Shooting EXP points through regular gameplay to top the rankings.
You can get started for free by playing the game through your web browser on the ecosystem’s official website. Matches can be started by pressing Play and selecting from Easy, Normal, Hard, or Nightmare modes. While points can be earned in all 4 levels, higher difficulties reward more points and feature additional challenges, such as tougher enemies and bosses with unique skills.
Each playthrough consumes Energy, which replenishes daily but is also available for purchase in the in-game shop using premium currency called Space Stones. Higher difficulty levels consume more Energy, and new players jump in with a starter gun that gradually degrades, though it can be repaired using gold earned during battles.
Successful runs grant not only Shooting EXP but also gold and loot boxes, which contain materials that will become important in the upcoming open beta. Players who collect enough Shooting EXP to qualify and place high on the weekly leaderboard are rewarded with Ranking Points and rare NFT Chests. According to official documentation, these chests will contain special weapons and perks in the open beta, with the game economy section further clarifying that they hold rare crafting materials for “ultimate guns.” Ranking Points also contribute to the Seasonal Leaderboard, whose prize pool is funded largely by player spending of Space Stones.
In addition to weekly competitions, Ranking Points can be earned through the Battle Pass, which comes in free and premium versions. The premium pass costs 50,000 Space Stones (roughly $10 based on bundle pricing), providing additional opportunities to climb the seasonal rankings.
To boost their performance, players can also equip a Genesis NFT Pet, available through a dedicated mint page on the Eternals website. Pets grant point bonuses based on rarity, though players acquiring them on secondary marketplaces need to check that their pet still has plasma, the resource required to keep it active. Plasma can be refilled if depleted.
