eBay has entered a strategic alliance with Web3 platform, OneOf to launch a project in the NFT space. The NFT collection dubbed "Genesis" features a range of tokenized collectibles inspired by Sports Illustrated magazine covers starring National Hockey League legend Wayne Gretzky.

At the time of Launch, The collection was available in four different rarity tiers, which are: green (299 editions), gold (199), platinum (99), and diamond (15) and the minting occurred on the Polygon network.

Commenting on the project, Wayne Gretzky, who is the inspiration for the collection, said:

"Forty years ago, I was grateful to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated; it was a monumental moment in my life. I'm honoured to bring this collectible experience to my hockey fans who have followed my career for decades."

This partnership will herald a new experience for users to trade items in the web3 space based on eBay's global reach and unrivaled inventory and the blockchain technology awareness of the OneOf platform. Indeed, both global brands will work on more projects in the space. Therefore, this collection can be considered a pivotal step to understanding the web3 space to offer even more meaningful services to the space in the future.
