Tournaments in DeRace
DeRace has shed more light on the upcoming epic horse racing tournaments. Hippodrome managers are the organizer of tournaments, using several ways to create an event ranging from small to massive activities.
Tournaments differ in the prize pool, entry fees, horse requirements, access (open to all or based on the invite), track length/surface, and the number of NFT horses participating in the tournament. They are an extension of the daily races but are also broken into stages that consist of a set number of races.
In a blog post, DeRace said,
“From the up-to-the-point championships to the massive week-long tournaments, NFT horse racing is elevated to the next level. Huge prize pools, sponsorships, the thrill of the competition, and triumph of being on the top, will be experienced by the DeRace players after the launch of the tournament feature.”
How to Organize a Tournament

Hippodrome managers are provided with a toolbox to design custom tournaments. Using this book, they can customize the necessary parameters to create a unique tournament. Managers can find all these details in the hippodrome management console, which can be adjusted with just a click.
After players complete all races in a specific stage, their NFT horses are listed on the leaderboard according to their best performances. The best ones proceed to the next level while the worst performing horses are eliminated. The hippodrome determines the number of NFT horses that will be promoted or removed.
After the final race, winners are announced and awarded their prizes. Initially, $DERC was the only prize. However, managers can now add DeRace NFTs to the pool prize and include Liquid Love, Chests, Keys, NFT horses, horse equipment, and so on.
