DeFi Kingdoms is introducing PvP (Player vs Player) Tournaments to compete in throughout the next 6 months, giving players a chance to win more than $75k+ worth of prizes. Here’s everything you need to know!
What Are DeFi Kingdoms PvP Tournaments?
February 26th marks the launch of the PvP Tournaments feature, a series of competitions in DeFi Kingdoms that will only be available exclusively on the Metis network. After bringing PvP combat to the Metis blockchain and launching PvE Patrols on the same L2, the team is now looking to up the stakes even further and provide more intense gameplay while offering big rewards for the best players.
The new feature is adding a 6-month series of tournaments to fight in for a share of over $75k worth of rewards, plus exclusive NFTs and potentially more prizes. The very best will wrap up the series with an All-Star Tournament, where the winner gets a grand prize of $10k alongside other exclusive goodies.
How to Participate in DeFi Kingdoms PvP Tournaments
There are multiple different ways to take part in this year’s competitive tournaments, even without actually competing in them.
When it comes to the overall tournament structure, players can look forward to participating in a variety of different competitive events that come with different rulesets. These bracketed, single-elimination style competitions will not only feature prizes but also Qualifier Tokens, which you will want to earn if you want to make your way to the “higher levels of competition.” In fact, the Qualifier Tokens are actually said to be tradable “if the player wishes to bow out of further competition or simply earns multiple of them.”
Everything will initially kick off with the Submersian Grand Opening Series, where you will need to rank high enough in one level of a tournament to access the next level, earning rewards in the process. You will be able to play 16-player Daily Skirmishes twice a day from Monday to Friday to earn rewards such as a tradable Qualifier Token for Weekend Warrior Tournaments, or a non-tradable Qualifier Token for the Revengers competition, depending on your ranking. There is a $5 entry fee for these 16-player tournaments, with rulesets and requirements set to change every week. The first Daily Skirmishes will take place on February 27th.
Weekend Warrior Tournaments will take place 2 times a week on Saturdays and Sundays, and will require paying a $10 entry fee as well as having a Qualifier Token from Daily Skirmishes to participate. Winning gets you $100, treasure chests, and a tradable Qualifier Token for the monthly Champion Invitational Tournaments. If you don’t rank in the top 2, you get a non-tradable Qualifier Token to the Revenger’s Champion competition instead, alongside other potential rewards depending on how high you rank.

The Revenger’s Champion tournament gives players another chance at getting to the All-Star Tournament. These events are 32-player tournaments that take place once every 6 weeks, and require having the specific Qualifier Token alongside paying a $20 entry fee to participate. The winner gets a tradable Qualifier Token to the All-Star event, alongside $300 and rewards from various treasure chests.
Those victorious in Weekend Warrior events progress to the Champion Invitational, which takes place once a week and comes with a $20 entry fee. 16 players with the right Qualifier Token can compete for prizes and for a tradable Qualifier Token to the All-Star competition. The token is awarded to the top 2 players, with the winner also getting $1000 and certain treasure chests, while 2nd place gets $400 plus similar chests.
The All-Star Tournament is a one-time showdown of the 16 best players at the end of the 6-month Submersian Grand Opening Series where all Heroes can be used to fight for the $10k grand prize. Only players who pay a $200 entry fee and have either a Qualifier Token from Champion Invitational or Revenger’s Champion can participate.
An official Google Calendar for the first 4 weeks of tournaments is linked in this official X post. Or you can check out this week 1 schedule image made by the founder of the Jewelers Gaming Guild. You will need to sign certain terms and conditions through a transaction in order to participate. The first limited time tournament is planned to be the Gold Rush Open, which will take place once every 4 weeks and give players another way to enter the Champion Invitational or Revengers tournaments. Only a $20 entry fee will need to be paid, though this one will require paying specifically in DFKGOLD tokens. Check out the official Medium post to learn more.
Most of the matches in every tournament will be sponsored, which makes it possible for spectators to participate by using their Influence to vote for the players they think will win, earning rewards if the prediction is correct. So if you don’t want to compete in these intense battles in the DFK Colosseum, then you will have the chance put your knowledge of DeFi Kingdoms to the test and earn rewards by making the right predictions.
