Developer Void Labs has announced that their upcoming third-person action RPG, Blade of God X, has officially been listed on the Epic Games Store, with an alpha test set to go live in the coming days.
About Blade of God X
The official sequel to the mobile-focused traditional Blade of God series is a dark Nordic-themed experience that builds upon the existing dynamic combo-based combat by integrating counterattacks with skill chains for further tactical depth that players can use to their advantage when trying to figure out various attack patterns from a varied range of deadly bosses. There will be a Soul Core system where players will be able to infuse the soul cores of various monsters they defeat into their skill chain in order to harness their powers and thus unlock new ways alter your combat playstyle. It will also be possible to team up with other players to take on bosses together as well as engage in strategic PvP gameplay.
No official release date seems to be available at the time of writing, with the official store page simply stating that the Web3 title is coming soon on Windows PCs, and that it will feature support for up to 4K resolution. The game will also be available on Android and iOS devices.
The publisher of the franchise, PGSoul Games, has previously partnered with Immutable to utilize Immutable zkEVM technology for this upcoming new cross-platform title, which has more than 240k+ pre-registered users on the game’s official website. Interestingly though, the store listing page does not label this new entry as a blockchain title, as is the case with other games on Epic’s store.
Alpha Test
An alpha test is planned to take place on March 6th at 2 AM UTC and will last for an unspecified amount of time. It will be possible to preload 10 hours early, from March 5th at 4 PM UTC, but who will be able to jump into this early version of the game isn’t stated by the latest tweet. Based on the soul core section of the official website though, this playtest might be limited to whitelisted users who own a soul core.
