Developer Day1Entertainment and publisher CityLabs have announced that the closed beta test for Baby Shark BubbleFong Friends, a play-to-earn shooter, is set to start on March 31st and end on April 14, with a total reward pool of $70k BUSD up for grabs.

The team revealed the start of this testing period in a tweet on March 22nd, in which they clarify that detailed instructions on the closed beta will soon be given.

In this early version of the licensed blockchain title, testers will have 2 weeks to fight for daily BUSD rewards, with $5k BUSD set to be distributed per day across the top 100 players. No specifics on how much the highest-ranked player of the day gets to earn is available at the time of writing.

Baby Shark BubbleFong Friends is inspired by the iconic arcade game called Breakout, featuring similar gameplay combined with blockchain technology, with the developers working on implementing various different game modes to put a spin on the classic title. Next to arcade-y action, the game is also based on Pinkfong and Baby Shark characters, and is thus officially-licensed by The Pinkfong Company. The game modes planned to be included in the full game are Team Battle, 101 Battle Royale, Story Mode and PvP Rank League.

According to the roadmap from the official whitepaper, after this closed beta, the online competitive title will launch in open beta in Q2 2023, the same quarter in which an NFT marketplace and pre-sale are also scheduled for release.
