Following a short testnet period, the mainnet for Animalia’s L1 chain is now officially live on Avalanche, giving the blockchain TCG a new home on which many new features could be introduced for an even better web3 gaming experience.
Animalia L1 (Layer 1) is a new gaming chain on the Avalanche network that is powered by AvaCloud and dedicated to serve as the foundation for the web3 trading card game of the same name. By setting up a chain solely for the game itself, the team is able to improve the blockchain side of the web3 title by having the freedom to develop a variety of new on-chain features while opening room for better scalability, stability and performance as the game continues to grow. With this gaming blockchain, players can also expect an overall better user experience in which they can look forward to new ways to earn rewards while owning and trading various game NFTs.
This chain initially launched in testnet on April 10th, 2025, before going live on mainnet 5 days later. Let’s take a look at the specific benefits this Layer 1 migration brings to players of this web3-powered card game.
The Layer 1 migration is set to bring a number of notable benefits to Animalia players. The key perks and highlights of this transition are said to include a new $ANIM token airdrop, full NFT migration, complete smart contract integration, gaming ecosystem launch, new node & staking features, and more innovations. All of this is planned to be implemented in the coming weeks.
This migration paves the way for a new $ANIM token airdrop, with the existing token said to be getting a revamp in tokenomics while introducing new LPs alongside its own ANIM DEX Swap for gas fees. You can expect full NFT migration to take place soon as well, meaning all existing assets such as Titans, Card Packs, and more are making their way to the new L1, with a snapshot for this transition set to be announced soon. Once all NFTs are migrated, it looks like old assets will be either sent to the vault or will end up getting burned in the process.
All smart contracts will be brought over to the new chain, and the Animalia gaming universe will also be integrated to the new network as well, bringing the entire ecosystem to its own on-chain place. Players will get the chance to participate in network validation, so you can also look forward to diving into new ways to earn in this ecosystem through new node and staking features.
This is all said to be “just the beginning,” as the team is planning on delivering plenty of new unannounced features soon.
In the weeks ahead, the blockchain gaming community can look forward to the developers rolling out these full ecosystem and smart contract integrations, according to the official X announcement thread. At the end of the thread are details you need if you want to manually add the new chain to your crypto wallet, but I'll leave the info here as well:
Animalia is a free to play TCG in which players battle it out using cards resembling crypto-inspired meme creatures. You can download it in open beta on HyperPlay for Windows and MacOS.
