Aether TCG, previously known as Cards of Ethernity, comes with 3 different features that make the blockchain that a F2P-friendly experience: the Aether Altar, Shadow Blessings, and Aether Shards. Since the game launched on Steam in early access on October 2nd, the developers have now published a post to provide more details on these in-game features.

The Aether Altar

The Aether Altar is an important aspect of a 3-part reward system that consists of a daily log-in system, the altar itself, and a section for activating personal gift codes & promotional offers. Through the daily log-in system, players are rewarded for forming a chain of up to 7 days. If you log in for 7 days straight, you’ll get one Aether Shard on the 7th day, which is worth 1000 Aether Coins and allows you to get assets you can keep permanently. In the days prior, you can get Shadow Blessings, as well as Aether Coins. As for the altar system itself, it features 120 cards you could potentially get, with the system comprising of two other features: Shadow Blessings and Aether Shards.

Shadow Blessings

Shadow Blessings represent temporary boosts that allow you to get various different Shadow Aether Cards. These are temporary cards that expire after a certain period of time. They can last for 2 hours as well as up to 7 days. If your Shadow Assets expire during a match, you’ll be afflicted with the ‘Aether Curse’ which makes you “lose the ongoing fight.”

Aether Shards

According to the official post from the developers, Aether Shards are referred to as “premium amber Aether gems” which make it possible for you to get assets that you can permanently keep instead of having them expire like with Shadow Cards. You can get one every week just by logging in for 7 days straight thanks to the daily log-in system. As is the case with Shadow Blessings, the amount of Aether Shards you use through the altar system does have an effect on drop chances.
