The fourth season of the Aavegotchi protocol’s original play-to-earn mechanism is coming up in grand style. The event will be across three categories: Rarity, Kinship and XP. The top 7,500 Gotchis will share a pool prize of 1.5M GHST (approximately $2M).

Rarity farming is a play-to-earn mechanic designed to reward the most engaged members of the Aavegotchi ecosystem. The mechanism rewards players for making their Aavegotchi NFTs as rare as possible, equipping them with wearable NFTs, petting them twice daily and participating in XP events.

To attain the rarity leaderboard, players must purchase or summon the rarest Aavegotchi and boost the rarity using the right combination of wearables and wearable sets. Players who want to increase their Aavegotchi’s kinship needs to pet it twice a day (once in 12 hours) or feed it with kinship potions. The XP leaderboard  i.e. Experience Points, allows players with an internet connection to earn XP on their Aavegotchi’s behalf.

Season Four will start on Thursday, July 28th, and the first official Snapshot will be out two weeks later, on Thursday, August 11th. The event will last for an eight-week Rarity Farming period. Participants of the Rarity Farming Season 4 will need to possess an Aavegotchi. Players can also borrow an Aavegotchi from other players using the Gotchi Lending platform, and all GHST earned will be split between the two parties.

Details of Season Four

There are no significant changes to Rarity, Kinship or XP systems since Rarity Farming Season 3. The GHST rewards will be allocated as follows: Rarity(70%), Kinship (20%) and XP(10%). The top winner will earn 84,857.04 GHST, while the least on the list will earn 19.33 GHST. Season 4 will have four rounds which will last for two weeks each. Rewards would be allocated after each round. Aavegotchi NFTs can hold GHST token balances inside them, and all rewards can be viewed and withdrawn from Aavegotchi’s interface. The next competition commences immediately after the snapshot of the previous event has been taken.
