What is Planet Mojo?
Crafted by Mystic Moose, Planet Mojo is a fascinating alien world where creatures known as Mojos emerge when a strange object collides with the planet. These creatures fight with the planet's warriors to combat an unknown threat. Mojos can be spawned from Moj-seeds or purchased from the NFT marketplace. They are the central characters in Mojo Land, a land-based game, and Mojo Melee, an auto-chess battler. Both games are part of the Planet Mojo universe
About Mojo Land
While Mojo Land is still in development, players can purchase NFT plots, known as biomes, to cultivate and raise Mojos. Each biome boasts unique features and rarities that influence a Mojo's growth and abilities. Cultivating these lands yields resources that can be used to craft battle stones to enhance Mojo's abilities.
About Mojo Melee
Mojo Melee is now free to play on browsers and Android devices. To access the game, go to the official website and click "Play" to create an account before linking it with your crypto wallet (MetaMask). After that, choose a Mojo character and set up your team for combat.
The Gameplay
Mojo Melee, in short, is an auto-chess battler where players compete against each other with a team of Mojo and Champions. Mojos are plant-based 3D creatures playable in the game, while Champions are warriors drawn from various clans to assist Mojos in battle.
Each player is required to form a collection of Mojos, Champions, and SpellStones. A team in Mojo Melee is made up of 1 Mojo unit, 4 Champion units, and 2 SpellStones. Non-NFT holders will be given a set of default units, which consists of Leaf Mojo, Brooka Clawhaven, Froda Swamhag, Sumatra Stronghorn, Dark Brightley, and 2 SpellStones (Meteorite and Flower Power).
Each round within a tournament involves a planning phase where players upgrade and deploy units. Once the combat phase begins, players only need to sit back and watch their teams battle.
Mojo Melee has two game modes: Duel and Melee. While the combat in both modes is identical, the number of players and conditions for victory are different.
In Duel modes, players will go up against a single opponent. The first one to win three rounds is the winner. Players can upgrade their Mojos and Champions and switch their strategies on the fly.
In the Melee mode, 8 players will compete in a 2-stage competition. Gamers will first compete in a group phase, with the top two players from each group going into the semifinals, followed by the final round.
Planet Mojo Tokens
Here's a list of Planet Mojo's in-game currency and on-chain tokens.
$MOJ: MOJ is Planet Mojo's native ERC-20 Token. The token can be used for staking, in-game payments, and governance.
Battle Stones: These are passes that allow gamers to enter paid tournaments. You can buy and sell them on the Mojo Marketplace for $MOJ.
$ORE: This is the in-game currency that's used for upgrading NFTs and crafting Battle Stones. Players can earn these by winning battles, completing quests, partnerships, tournaments, and wagered matches.
How to Play and Earn in Mojo Melee
There are many ways to earn in this game. You can:
- Take part in Ranked matches to earn XP and green $OREs for character upgrades, as well as BattlePoints to unlock Reward Tiers in BattlePass;
- Complete daily quests to earn $OREs and BattleStones, which can be used to enter paid tournaments; or
- Compete in Seasons/Tournaments to earn Ores, BattleStones, SpellStones, Champions, Mojos, USDC, and $MOJ.
As you win ub Ranked matches, you'll collect Trophies, which you can use to unlock special items, new gameplay (Melee, Quests, etc), and powerful characters to add to your lineup.
You'll also receive BattlePoints to unlock rewards from the Free and/or Premium BattlePass, such as XP, Ores, and in-game chests. These items can be used to speed up progression and improve your lineup for combat.
As of now, anyone can play Mojo Melee for free. You can start with a default Mojo and four starter Champions. Once you reach level 20, you can mint the free characters as NFTs.
There are many perks to holding an NFT (Mojos/Champions). These include faster upgrades, since NFT holders can earn "Collection Points" and "Premium Points" to advance quickly. Holders are also entitled to special rewards and exclusive events and tournaments.

The Amazon Prime and Planet Mojo Partnership
To expand its reach, Planet Mojo has announced a partnership with Amazon to onboard Prime users to the game. Prime members who create a Mojo Melee account can access a free package from Prime Gaming that includes an exclusive NFT and in-game currency. The six-month collab promises monthly NFT drops and extra content to enrich the gameplay experience.
